CORNFLOWER

Although cornflowers are best known for their cornflower blue colored blooms, these annuals also come in shades of pink, white, red, lavender and maroon.  They are the most splendid of annuals. They are easy to grow, they flower all summer, make great cut flowers and the butterflies and bees adore them.

Cornflowers require a sunny, open spot and poor soil. You don’t need a huge area to grow them: in fact, they can be grown in containers.  They need to be cut constantly if you want them to flower all summer. Cut them just before they open fully.
