The dry season (no rainfall) is Petunia time. They thrive in the winter and early spring, producing an unrivalled floral display. In ideal conditions – sunshine, free air movement and protection from cold winds they bloom for months on end. Regular watering and feeding are all they ask for. A huge array of relatively new hybrids has arrived on the scene, bred specifically for hanging containers. At Blackwood’s we have chosen a range that has proved to successful in our local conditions. These include Petunia Easy Wave in different colours along with some cutting grown hybrids like ‘Night Sky’, ‘Queen of Hearts’ and ‘Fiesta’. These are available in white plastic hanging bowls ready for display or 17 cm pots for transplanting into your own baskets, containers and even out into the garden.
