These tall growing Salvia splendens hybrids are so rewarding in the garden. They can reach a metre or so in height with lush green foliage covering bushy, many branched plants. The scarlet or purple flowers borne in terminal spikes smother the bushes from early summer to the end of autumn. The nectar rich tubular flowers attract insects and birds to them. They’re great plants for mixed borders and shrubberies. Prune back after flowering.
