Before planting Dutch Iris bulbs, it’s best to work some compost into the soil and also place compost on the soil surface to create a cooling mulch. Dutch Iris bulbs should only be planted from early May when the weather is much cooler. Plant the bulbs at a depth of about 5cm. They can be planted in full sun to semi-shaded areas.
