PENNISETUM ‘VERTIGO’
Pennisetum ‘Vertigo’ – attention grabbing ornamental grass – is a new ornamental grass. It has graceful leaves of a rich plum or maroon hue. They are held on tall, stately stems that can attain a height of almost 2 metres. The clumps are most impressive and make excellent background subjects for mixed borders and grass gardens. Their shape, form and unusual colour contrast strikingly with most other plants.
Vertigo is also effective in large pots, either as an individual specimen, or in a mixed planting. These grasses grow best in full sun and prefer well drained soil conditions. Scraggly plants can be cut back to ground level, which encourages them to grow back with a fresh flush of new leaves.
